Welcome to the Plantation
Located in Balaclava on the north west coast of Mauritius, the Plantation is great for families with teenagers or families with young children. Recently refurbished, in late 2007, the Plantation is a spacious resort surrounding a lush tropical garden naturally bordered by a river rolling out to the crystal clear lagoon. The coral reef surrounding the lagoon provides a safe haven for water sports. The resort is 20 minutes drive from the capital, Port Louis, 20 minutes from the seaside resort of Grand Bay and an hour from the airport. Rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated in contemporary designs; equipped with every amenity for utmost comfort and privacy. Restaurant facilities provide a choice of three venues, each with its very own ambience, and an overall offer of a vast array of culinary styles. Set amidst the original lake is the Spa - offering luxury treatments to regenerate, soothe and relax. Accommodation
The 26 family rooms of 72 m2 have a room with a king size bed for the parents and a room with a bunk-bed for the children. They are either facing the Citron River or the pool. At the Plantation, all rooms and suites are luxurious and spacious. The clean contemporary style artfully mixes wood, metal and glass with soft colourful fabrics. The Restaurants
Couleurs & Saveurs: Main Buffet Restaurant
Open for breakfast from 07h00 a.m to 10h00 a.m, offering an international buffet breakfast served with freshly brewed coffee. Dinner is served between 7h00 p.m to 10h00 p.m and offers a vide choice of European, Indian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and local cuisine which changes daily.

Sugar: Gastronomic Restaurant
This restaurant offers gourmet dining in a romantic setting, a comfortably spaced veranda wide-open onto the water. Dine in the grand dining room or on one of its private, romantic open-air islets set amidst the pond. It welcomes you everyday for dinner from 19h30 to 22h00.

Ostrea: Beach Restaurant
This restaurant & bar, located on the beach is opened daily for lunch, from 12h30 to 14h30 and for dinner from 19h30 to 22h00. From your table you can take in views of the Citron River. At night, facing the bay you will enjoy grilled food and seafood under the stars.
The Bars
Aquaria
The main bar - the focal point of hotel life - is centrally set on the pond. Comfortable and easy-going furniture make it the ideal spot to enjoy a relaxed refreshment, and a wonderful choice of cocktails any time between 10h00 and 23h00. For anyone wanting just to laze around, the bar ensures service for quick salads and sandwiches at lunch time; snacks for late afternoon - from 15h00 to 17h30. Music shows, and theme entertainment, crown the evenings there.
Plantation Bar
With a welcoming atmosphere, the laid-back upstairs bar which is just off reception lounge at entrance level. It offers a beautiful panoramic view across the ponds and gardens. Ideally located close to the reception lounge, boutiques and conference rooms. In the evening, the club spirit of the place prevails as it becomes the hideout for billiard amateurs. Opening hours: 10 h 00 to 23 h 00.
Ostrea
The beach bar is placed where the deep greenery of the tree fronds overlook the sea in front. Bathing in playful light, it epitomizes a tropical holiday. During the day, it serves as a refreshing beach service. At the close of the day, it is the perfect backdrop for a spectacular sundown, just sipping away at one of the many exhilarating cocktails. Plantation's Kids Club is fully geared to cater for ages 3 to 12, from 9.00 a.m to 9.00 p.m. With its dedicated child-friendly facilities and play equipment for all ages, kids can enjoy outdoor fun and activities or just chill out in an activity room equipped with TV and DVD facilities.

Spa
Set amidst the sensational garden, besides the resort's natural river, the SPA invites guests to revel in a world of holistic caring for an exclusive experience of body and mind rebalancing. A large choice of personalized facial and body treatments awaits you. Ten private cabins - of which two are double cabins, bathing in natural light, each have either an individual shower cubicle or a bath and all are fully fitted with state-of-the art marine hydrotherapy equipment. The two double cabins offer in addition the luxury of a private Whirlpool bath.
Colour Therapy
Inspired by Chinese traditional medicine in which the body is considered both from its physical and energy aspects, colour therapy is based on the Yin-Yang principle and the fundamental elements of Chinese traditional medicine - wood, fire, earth, metal, water - each of which are in turn expressed by five colours, namely green, red, yellow, blue, purple. Plantation's SPA makes exclusive use of "Phytobiodermie" - a Swiss brand of facial, body and hair treatments, developed from only natural ingredients. The first step to a personalised treatment is an individual diagnosis based on an observation of body and facial reflex zones; morphology; energy bio-rhythm, so that any treatment perfectly matches the guest's specific needs.
